--- title: Movavi Video Converter canonical: https://saasranked.com/software/movavi-video-converter/ category: Video Converter Software points: 30 rank: 10 of 11 facts_checked: 2026-10-08 --- # Movavi Video Converter Paid Windows and Mac video converter with batch jobs, device presets and a lifetime licence option. 30 points out of 100. #10 of 11 video converters. Vendor: Movavi. Website: https://www.movavi.com/videoconverter/ - The 7-day trial adds a watermark to output videos [1]. - Plans are a 1-month subscription, a 1-year subscription and a lifetime licence; one key activates one computer [3]. - The buy page offers a full refund within 14 days if technical problems cannot be solved [3]. - The format list shows H.265 output, which needs Microsoft's HEVC extension on Windows 10 or later [2]. - A Mac version is offered; no Linux download is listed [6]. Verdict: Movavi Video Converter suits people who want a plain paid converter with batch conversion, device presets and basic editing [1]. It lists H.265 but not AV1, and its pages do not name GPU encoding [1][2]. The catch: the trial watermarks every output, and the buy page shows prices in local currency, so the US list price is unclear [1][3][4]. Best for: People who want a simple paid converter with trim, crop and rotate built in. ## Points | Criterion | Line | Value | Points | Note | |---|---|---|---|---| | Systems | Also runs on | macOS | 3/6 | The product page offers a Mac .dmg download; no Linux download is listed [6]. | | Formats | H.265 (HEVC) output | Yes | 4/4 | Formats page lists H.265 output for MKV and MP4, installed separately with Microsoft's HEVC extensions [2]. | | Formats | AV1 output | Not published | 0/6 | Not published on the vendor's formats page; AV1 is not in the output list [2]. | | Formats | Editing codecs | Not published | 0/3 | Not published on the vendor's formats page; ProRes appears only as an input codec and DNxHD is absent [2]. | | Formats | HDR kept or tone-mapped | Not published | 0/4 | Not published on the vendor's product or formats pages [1][2]. | | Formats | Audio-only conversion | Yes | 3/3 | Formats page lists MP3, AAC and FLAC as audio output [2]. | | Formats | Subtitles | Yes | 3/3 | Product page says you can find subtitles on your computer or online from within the app; features page says find and add subtitles [1][5]. | | Speed | GPU encoding | None | 0/12 | Product page names no hardware encoding; it lists only a graphics card with current drivers as a requirement [1]. | | Batch and tools | Batch queue | Yes | 5/5 | Product and features pages list batch processing and batch-converting files [1][5]. | | Batch and tools | Device presets | Yes | 3/3 | Product and features pages say to use conversion presets for different devices [1][5]. | | Batch and tools | Command line or watch folder | Not published | 0/5 | Not published on the vendor's product page; no command line or watch folder is mentioned [1]. | | Batch and tools | Compress to a set file size | Not published | 0/4 | Not published on the vendor's product page; it mentions compressing but no target file size [1]. | | Batch and tools | Trim, crop and rotate | Yes | 3/3 | Product page lists basic editing: trim, crop, rotate, and colour and sound adjustments [1]. | | Batch and tools | Reads DVD or Blu-ray | Not published | 0/3 | The product page says it does not convert copy-protected media files and DVDs, without saying whether discs can be opened [1]. | | Price and licence | Free version without a watermark | No | 0/12 | The 7-day trial adds a watermark to output videos and converts only half the length of audio files [1]. | | Price and licence | Open source | Not published | 0/6 | Not published on the vendor's product or buy pages; no source repository or open-source licence is mentioned [1][3]. | | Price and licence | Pay once, keep it | Yes | 6/6 | Buy page lists a Lifetime option; its FAQ says you can use the purchased version as long as you wish [3]. | | Price and licence | Cheapest full version | Not published | 0/12 | Buy page shows zloty prices and no lifetime price; the store page's $ amounts are not clearly labelled [3][4]. | ## Plans | Plan | Price | Per month (USD) | |---|---|---| | Trial | Free for 7 days [1] | $0 | | 1 month | Not shown in US dollars [4] | - | | 1 year | Not shown in US dollars [3][4] | - | | Lifetime | Not shown [3][4] | - | The buy page shows prices in Polish zloty and lists a lifetime option without a price.
